Is it weird that I miss his toes?
Tales of an unfinished mind.
In 2011, I gave up my full-time job as a magazine editor to become a full-time mom and a part-time freelance writer. It was exciting and terrifying and one of the best decisions I ever made.
But sometime after the birth of my daughter, I started to notice that a little green-eyed monster had started showing up. Just every now and then. Mostly, it reared its ugly little head when I heard about one of my foodie friends jetsetting off to Taos for a spontaneous weekend getaway. Or when I read a tweet about the amazing cocktail someone was enjoying at happy hour.
All while I was home, exhausted, with baby vomit on my shirt and a plate of cold spaghetti on the table, praying for five minutes of peace in which to feed myself.
I really missed living the foodie lifestyle I had come to love.
And that’s when I realized: there’s no reason I can’t be a foodie and a mommy.
My website, Laughing Lemon Pie is inspired by the idea that we can all find balance between those two—maybe not every single day, but over all. I hope to start a conversation about what it means to be a foodie, what it means to eat organic, and what it means to have to cope with the challenges of feeding a family, too.

A favorite picture from you...You have this way of finding some aspect of a subject which captures a place in ones heart...perhaps evokes memories. No it's not wierd to miss his toes.
